Not much has been happening since our last meeting. I will be working with Lion Leann to get club officer and zone chair training set before the start of the next Lions year. This will not happen on the last day of the year like last year. We will focus a lot on the portal again. One thing that we all need to think about as well moving into the New Year is that we need to search out attendees for the Regional Lions Leadership Institute and the Emerging Lions Leadership Institute that the state will be holding in either August or September. I have been once again selected as the MD-1 GLT so as soon as I have dates and location I will get this out to you all. For the Regional Lions Leadership Institute Lions should not have served as a second vice district governor yet. This is for Lions who wish to advance their leadership skills at the district level. The Emerging Lions Leadership Institute is for Lions who have not yet served as club president who wish to be a club leader. Our district will allowed to send at least 2 Lions for each institute. We can compile a list of more just in case there are spots to fill. Participants or districts will be required to pay a fee to participate this year. (Note: PCC Van Duyn asked that the new budget allows for some money for the extra fees towards participants as the fee per person is around $500.00)
GMA - The Global Membership Approach is a process that clubs and districts can use to grow. The four step process is easy to use at the club level to find out what is going good, what may need to be changed to move forward, and what opportunities may be out there to help their clubs grow. I am willing to come to your club and/or zone to help facilitate a session that will jump start the process.
District and State Forums - There are currently no plans for either event. Now that I know I will continuing on I will begin plans for a huge state forum to be held sometime in November.
